Why can't I
submit my timesheet?
The option to submit your timesheet
only appears once certain criteria are met.
It will be hidden if:
- No entries exist for the
week.
- You are viewing a partial week (e.g., a
week that hasn’t started or ended
yet).
- You have already submitted your
timesheet for that week.
- The week is locked by an
approver.
Locked timesheets
- You cannot edit a locked weekly timesheet (a timesheet that has already
been approved).
- Request a reopen from your
approver if
changes are required.
After you submit your
timesheet
- Your timesheet status updates to Submitted in the My timesheet
area.
- Your approver receives an email
notification letting them know your week
is ready for review.
- If you add time after submitting, your approver will see it when reviewing and may ask you to resubmit
- Your approver reviews your submitted
entries in the Approvals area.
- If everything looks correct, they approve
your timesheet and the week becomes
locked.
- If changes are needed, your approver may
request edits. You’ll receive an email
with their feedback.
Resubmit your
timesheet
- Open your timesheet.
- Make the requested updates. You
can also make your own edits until
such time as the timesheet is
approved.
- Click Resubmit.
Timesheet statuses
- Submitted: awaiting
approval from an assigned time
approver.
- Needs changes: approver requests
updates to your submitted timesheet.
- Approved: that weekly timesheet is locked
and time entries cannot be added to or
edited for that week.
Best practices
- Regular check-ins: Review and
submit your timesheet at the
same time each week to build a consistent
habit.
- Clarity and accuracy: Ensure each
entry has a clear description,
correct project, and correct billable
status before submitting.
- Timeliness: Submit early if your
approver needs time
to review before billing or reporting
cycles.
