Within
Teamwork, you
can log time to specific
tasks on your
projects.
Logging time using
timers
There are two ways to start a timer on a
task.
- Hover over the task and select the clock
icon to the right of the task name.
Click Start Timer in the
pop-up menu.

- Hover over the task and
press
S
on your keyboard.
Once you start a timer, it will run
in the lower left-hand corner
of your browser window until you select to
pause or log the time.

Logging time manually
You can also log time manually on an
individual task.
- Hover over the task and select the clock
icon to the right of the task name.
Click Log Time in the
pop-up menu.

- Hover over the
task and press
T
on your keyboard.
When you select the Log
Time option, a modal will open
for you to fill out the time entry
details.
Note: The Billable checkbox
in the time
logging modal
will be checked or unchecked by default
based on the project or task list's billable default
setting. You can update this
preference for the current time log.

When logging time on a task, you can also
click the lock icon to keep the
duration as it has been set when you change
either start or end time.
If you then change either the start or end
time the other will change to match the set
time spent.

Click Multiple People below the Who field to log time for multiple individuals at once. A separate time entry (with the specified time spent amount) will be created for each selected user. Ex. Selecting three users and setting the time spent to 2 hours will create a 2-hour time log for each of those users.
You can also log time or start a timer
directly from the project's Time tab.

Logging time via email
You can log time to a task via email by adding a duration
in square brackets as part of your
reply to a task notification email.
Time duration can be specified any of the following ways:
- [1h], [1m], [1h 25m], [1.5], or [1:30]
Time description - add
the relevant text between curly brackets. You can also reference tags within the description brackets to add tags to the time entry:
- {Time log description #TagName}
By default, time logged via email
will be marked as non-billable. To specify
billable time, add
#billable
on a separate
line of your reply.
Time tags
You can also add tags to your time entries
when logging time. Go to the Tags tab of the time modal and click
the Add Tag option.

In the tag picker, you can search
for and select from existing project-specific
or site-level tags.

You can also add tags via the
description tab
of the log time modal, using shortcodes:
#tagname
#[tag name]
- for tags with multiple words
