Within Teamwork.com, you can add project
updates to keep your team informed of the
project's status.
Project updates allow a message to be added
to the project's Dashboard area so your
team can see the project's current status or
any updates at a glance.
Permission to view and add project updates
can be enabled in individual user or
collaborator's project
permissions.
Adding a project update
You
can add an update
via the project
options
menu.
Click the three
dots to the right
of the project
name and select
the Add
Update option
within the Quick Add section.
This menu can also be accessed via
the Add button in the
project's Dashboard area.
While viewing an individual project,
you can also use the quick add menu to set an
update. Click the Quick Add ( + icon) option in the main navigation menu on
the left of your site. Hover over the More option and select Update.
You can also add an update when viewing the project's updates
history.
In the project update modal, you can add the
content for your update.
Note: There is a limit of 500
characters in place for project updates.
When adding a project update you can also
choose a project health status. The
corresponding color will be displayed
alongside the update to quickly identify the
health of the project.
You have the option to choose who to notify
of the update. You can choose individual
users, entire companies and teams, or select
to notify everyone who can see updates on the
project. Click Update to
apply your notify options and return to the
project update modal.
Select the Add Update button to
post the update.
This will then add the update to your
project's Dashboard area.
Depending on your permissions, you will see
some additional options when you hover over
the update:
- Add new update - add a new project
update
- Hide - hide the current update
- View history - view the project update
history
- Request update - request an update from
the project owner
- Delete - delete the current update
If you are viewing the project in
portfolio view, the update along with the
project owner will be displayed on the
relevant card.
Note: You can only edit a project
update within 15 minutes of creating it.
Project health
When adding a project update, you can also set a project health
status using the colored dots below
the update field.
Site administrators can customize the
corresponding text for each of these health statuses in the
site settings area.
Projects list
export
A project updates column will also be
included in the projects list export, so
you can see the latest update for each
project in the report.
The projects list can be exported from the Projects section of your site. Click
the Projects option in the main
navigation menu on the left of your site and
go to the List subsection.
In the List tab, click the three dots
in the top right and select
the Export option. You can
then choose your preferred export format (PDF,
HTML, Excel, or CSV).
