Within Teamwork Spaces, you can
create timelines directly in your pages to
coordinate work or track to-dos from meetings
in a visual way.
Open the relevant page in your space
and select Edit in
the top right.
When viewing the page in edit mode,
select the + to the
right of the WYSIWYG editor bar and
choose Timeline from the
dropdown menu.
The timeline widget will be added to
the contents area of your page where you can
customize it and add items.
Tasks
Click a day in the timeline view
to
create a new task item. A color block will
be
added to the selected day which you can
click
and start typing to give the task a
name.
When a task is highlighted, you will
be able to access additional task
options:
- Link - embed a link to the
task while in edit mode. When users view
the page in read mode, clicking the task
will bring them to the specified
URL.
- Assign - choose an existing user to
be responsible for the task. Once a user
has been selected, you can remove them
again by clicking the trash can icon
beside their name.
- Color - choose a color from a
predefined palette.
- Progress - set progress for the
task either by typing a number in the text
field or by moving the progress bar. A
progress icon will appear to the left of
the task name. You can also complete the
task by clicking the checkmark.
- Delete - remove the task from the
timeline.
You can adjust the duration of a
task by clicking the task and dragging the
bars either side of the task to extend or
reduce it. You can also click and drag the
task itself to position it on different
days.
Task groups
You can also create task
groups for
similar tasks. Click the arrow to the
left
of
the timeline view to open the groups
menu.
Select the + option and click
to
the
right of the color icon to add a
title.
You
can also use the color palette to
change
the
color.
Once you add multiple groups, you
will see horizontal dividers segmenting
the
groups of tasks.
You can minimize individual groups
by clicking the group name to highlight it
and
then clicking the downward arrow to the
left
of the group name.
Milestones
You can also add milestones to
your
timeline. Hover over the relevant day and
select the flag icon. A color area will be
added to the timeline which you can click
to
add a name.
Click a milestone and select the
color palette icon to change the color of the
milestone. You can also click the trash can
icon to delete the milestone.
A milestone can be rescheduled by
clicking and dragging it to a new day.
Copy and paste
You can use keyboard shortcuts
to
cut, copy, and paste tasks, task groups,
and
milestones.
Click the relevant item to highlight
it. You can then press ctrl / cmd + c to copy
and ctrl / cmd + v to duplicate the
item.
To remove an item, click it to
highlight it and press ctrl / cmd + x.
Alternative styling
You can also adjust the styling for tasks by clicking the settings cog in the top right of the widget area.
Toggling on the Alternative Styling option will update how task colors are displayed in the widget.
The default styling option is solid, giving each task a solid color background.
When alternative styling is enabled, tasks will instead use outline styling with a white background and a small color indicator to the left of the task name.
