Time tracking takeaways
📣 Communicate
Communicate the value and benefits
of time tracking to your leadership team to
get them on board.
Example: We’ll be able to
invoice accurately (and without wasting
time).
🤝 Help
Help employees see the value of
time tracking by making the benefits relevant
to them.
Example: You won’t have to
use that tool you hate anymore.
🛠 Support
Provide support to employees during
the transition period.
Hint: Teamwork training
resources can help.
📋 Set expectations
Share expectations and follow up to
make sure people are sticking to them.
Example: Set a standard that
the week’s time should be logged by 4pm every
Friday.
⭐ Model behavior
Model the desired behaviors by
following the same expectations
yourself.
Example: Make it easier for
others by doing what you’re asking them to
do.
Time formats and
decimal totals
Teamwork tracks time in hours and minutes by
default. You can view logged time in two
formats:
- Time: hours and minutes (for
example, 2h, 4h 30m, 13m).
- Hours: decimal format (for example,
2.00, 4.5, 0.217).
Individual time
entries display up to 3 decimal places.
Totals and rollups display up to 2 decimal
places and are rounded
appropriately.
