Within Teamwork.com, you can change the dates of dependent tasks and subtasks automatically when changing the dates on the predecessor task.
When adjusting the dates (calendar icon) of a task that has either subtasks or dependent tasks, an option will be included at the bottom of the date picker indicating which task dates will be affected by the change.
Click the link on this option to adjust your date adjustment preference:
- Adjust this task only - only adjust the dates of the current task.
- Adjust this task including subtasks - when adjusting the current task's dates, automatically adjust the dates of any subtasks.
- Adjust this task including dependents - when adjusting the current task's dates, automatically adjust the dates of any dependent tasks.
- Adjust this task including subtasks and dependents - when adjusting the current task's dates, automatically adjust the dates of any subtasks and any dependent tasks.
Note: The options available will change based on whether the task has subtasks, dependent tasks, or both, associated.
You can also change dates of tasks with dependencies in the Gantt Chart.
Example
If you move the start date of a parent task forward by three days, and including subtasks is selected, any associated subtasks will also have their start dates moved forward by three days.
