The AI writing assistant in Teamwork.com helps you draft, rewrite, summarize, and improve content directly inside your projects and tasks.

Before you start

  • The AI text editor is part of TeamworkAI and is available when AI is enabled for your site by a site admin in Settings > AI.
  • AI responses are generated using a large language model and may vary based on your prompt and context.

What can the AI text editor do?

  • Draft new content from a prompt
  • Summarize existing text
  • Improve clarity and tone
  • Check spelling and grammar
  • Rewrite or simplify selected text

Supported areas

You can access the AI assistant from supported text editors in the areas below.

  • Description fields (project, project template, task list, task list template, task, milestone, file, link)
  • Comments (task, milestone, file)
  • Messages
  • Notebooks
  • Project updates
  • Client notes (in Clients view)

The AI assistant is not supported in the beta Notebooks editor.


Use the AI assistant

Access the AI assistant from the editor in any of the supported areas listed above.

  1. Click the AI icon (AI icon) on the right side of the editor toolbar. In some areas (such as Notebooks), the AI option may be under the ellipsis (three dots).

  2. Choose one of the options below:


Draft with AI

Generate new content by starting with your own prompt or using a quick-start option.

  1. Select an option from the Draft with AI list.  Each option opens the prompt field.
  2. Type your prompt, then click the send arrow (Send arrow).

  3. Review the response.

  4. Choose what to do next:
    • Apply: Click Apply to add the suggested text to the editor.
    • Edit: Click the pencil icon to update your prompt and try again.
    • Retry: Click the try again icon (Try again icon) to generate an alternative result.
    • Back: Return to the AI assistant menu.


AI tools

Use AI tools to review, correct, and improve content you have already written.

  1. Select an option from the AI tools list.
    • Spelling and grammar
    • Summarize
    • Make it better
    • Simplify

Highlight a section of text before clicking the AI button to apply an AI tool to only that text.

After reviewing the suggestion, choose what to do next:
  • Apply: Apply the suggested changes to the text in the editor.
  • Retry: Click the try again icon (Try again icon) to generate an alternative result.
  • Back: Return to the AI assistant menu.
