Before you start

Clients can be assigned a client owner. This enables you to:
  • Assign a main point of contact (ex. the client's internal representative or account manager).
  • Give someone access to the client’s Overview tab, which is a valuable resource for keeping track of high-level client data).

Companies vs. clients

If you’ve been with Teamwork.com for a while you might be familiar with Companies and the Companies view. Clients are a new (and old) way to manage the external teams you might be working with. Clients stand in anywhere that Companies were used, but you also get a lot more from the Clients view.

When you enable Clients view:
  • All existing companies on your Teamwork.com site are called clients. This is really just a name change.
  • The Companies tab is replaced with a Clients view. This is more than a name change — the Clients view lists all of your clients, but it also gives you the option to click any client to get an overview of how work related to that client is going. Learn more in the “View an individual client” section later on this page.

Enable Clients view

Enable Clients view for better client management and insights.
📝 Reminder: Clients view replaces Companies view. This is a site-wide change so everyone on your account will see the Clients view instead of Companies.
🔑 Site administrators (in the owner company) can manage the Clients view setting from site settings.

  1. Click your profile icon.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Switch to the General tab.
  4. Scroll to Turn on Clients view.
  5. Toggle the view on (or off).
