Your site is ready: invite your team so they land on real projects, with the right access and rates already in place.
What | Invite your employees, clients and partners, and add them to their projects. |
Why | Inviting people after setup means they start work straight away, instead of waiting for access or fixing permissions. |
Who | Site owners and site administrators. |
This is step 7 of 8 in the Owner and Administrator onboarding path. About 15 minutes.
Invite your team
1. Add a welcome message (optional)
Add a custom message to your invite emails, such as who to contact with questions. See Adding a Custom Message to Invite Emails.
2. Invite your employees
- Invite your employees to your owner company as standard users. See Inviting People to Your Teamwork.com Site.
- Give each person their role.
- Make sure each person has a cost rate and billable rate, as set out in step 5.
3. Add people to projects
- Add each person to the projects they will work on.
- Check their project permissions, and make anyone who will run the project a project administrator.
4. Invite clients and partners
Invite clients only once their project is ready for them to see.
- Invite each client contact to their client's company as a client user.
- Invite partners or subcontractors as collaborators, unless they need to log time.
- Add them to their projects, and check what they can see. For example, hide budgets and internal notes.
5. Point people to their onboarding path
Send each person the link to the onboarding path for their role:
- Project managers: Project Manager path
- Everyone else on your team: Team Member path
- Clients: Client User path
Done when
- Your employees are invited, with roles and rates set.
- Everyone is added to the projects they work on.
- Each person has the link to their onboarding path.
Next step: Step 8: Connect your tools.
