Within Teamwork, you can manage all of your custom fields via your site settings.
Note: Custom fields are available on the per-user Premium/Grow subscription plans and above.
Click your profile icon in the top right of your site and select Settings from the dropdown menu.
In the settings area, go to the Custom Fields subsection where you can view and manage your project and task custom fields.
Note: Custom fields can only be created and managed by site administrators or users with permission to manage custom fields. Project administrators can manage task custom fields in the corresponding project's settings.
You can click the arrow to the right of any existing dropdown custom fields to expand it and view the list of associated options.
Creating a custom field
You can create new project and task custom fields by clicking the Add Custom Field button at the top of the relevant section of the Custom Fields area.
For task custom fields, you will have an additional option in the Details tab to make the custom field project specific.
Note: Project specific task custom fields cannot be managed in the site settings. You will need to go to the Custom Fields subsection of the project's Settings area.
Editing custom fields
Click the three dots to the left of the field name and select Edit from the dropdown menu.
You can update the custom field name and description in the Details tab. In the Type tab, you will see which field type is selected.
Note: You cannot change the custom field type once it has been created.
For dropdown custom fields, you can also update the individual dropdown options, drag and drop to reorder them, or delete them.
Deleting a custom field
Click the three dots to the left of the field name and select Delete from the dropdown menu.
You will see a confirmation where you will be asked if you wish to proceed with deleting the custom field. If the custom field is currently being used on any projects or tasks, this will also be noted in the confirmation modal.
Once a custom field is deleted, it will no longer be listed on any items that were previously using it.
