AI Teammates are rolling out gradually. Features and availability may change during early access.
What
Admins manage AI Teammate availability by enabling AI, assigning teammates, and controlling whether teammates are active site wide.
Why
  • Control who can access AI Teammates.
  • Make teammates available to everyone or a selected group.
  • Adjust access as early access features roll out.
Who
  • Site owners and admins with access to site settings.
  • Only users with admin permissions can enable AI and manage teammate assignment.
When
Use these settings when enabling AI Teammates for the first time, onboarding a group of users, or adjusting access during rollout.

AI Teammates are AI assistants built into Teamwork.com that help users review updates, generate summaries, and support project workflows through structured jobs. Admins control who can access teammates and whether they are available site wide.

Enable AI for the site

  1. Go to Settings → AI.
  2. Enable AI for the site.
  3. Enable Teammates when available.

Open Teammates admin

  1. Go to Home → Teammates.
  2. Select Teammates admin.
  3. Open Manage to view the list of teammates and assignment settings.

Assign and activate teammates

Teammates use two controls. Assigned to controls who is eligible to access a teammate. Active site wide controls whether the teammate is available to those assigned users. Both must be set for users to access a teammate.

Example: Assign and activate Scout

  1. In Manage Teammates, locate Scout.
  2. Under Assigned to, choose Everyone or select individual users or roles.
  3. Enable Active site wide to make Scout available to assigned users.

Remove access to a teammate

  • Update Assigned to to remove specific users or roles.
  • Disable Active site wide to pause access for all assigned users.

Permissions and access behavior

  • AI Teammates follow existing Teamwork.com permission rules.
  • Users only receive outputs based on information they already have access to.
  • Assignment controls manage who can access teammates, not what data users can see.
