Why | To help you understand and plan your team's AI usage before you run credit-based features. |
Who | Fully licensed users on a paid plan who use TeamworkAI, and site owners and admins who manage AI settings and credits. |

How AI features are priced
Teamwork.com AI uses a shared, credit-based model. Every capability that uses credits draws from your plan's credit allocation, so your team has a single, consistent way to understand and track AI usage.
A credit is used when you intentionally ask AI to do work for you. The ranges below are indicative, and actual consumption depends on the type and complexity of the work.
AI capabilities that use credits
Capability | What it does | Credit consumption |
|---|---|---|
Teammates (pre-built agents) | Hand off jobs such as project catch-ups, health checks, client updates, notification digests, weekly planning and resourcing suggestions to AI teammates like Scout, Flo, Remi and Kash. | Varies by task complexity: Simple (~1–10 credits), Intermediate (~10–50 credits), Complex (~50–150 credits). One request may involve several steps. Consumption depends on how much project data the teammate reviews and how much work it completes. Scheduled runs use credits each time they run. |
AI Notetaker | Join meetings, transcribe conversations and generate summaries. | ~80–120 credits per meeting hour. Varies with meeting length and the outputs generated afterwards. |
Ask AI | Ask questions, find information, and create or update work from across your workspace. | Varies by request: Simple (~1–10 credits), Intermediate (~10–30 credits), Complex (~30–80 credits). Consumption depends on the depth of the question and how much of your workspace is searched to answer it. |
AI Workflows | Build and run AI-powered workflows. | Varies by run: Simple (~1–5 credits), Intermediate (~5–20 credits), Complex (~20+ credits). Only AI-powered steps use credits. Standard workflow steps don't. |
AI Timelog Builder | Log time against tasks through chat. | ~1–5 credits per request. Varies with the number of time entries created. |
Custom Agents (Roadmap) | Build your own agents to take on work your way. | Coming soon. Consumption will vary by task and depend on the number of steps the agent takes, the data it reviews, the tools it uses and how much is left to its judgement. |
Tip: Agents given clear, specific instructions will typically use fewer credits.

What makes a request simple or complex?
Credit consumption reflects how much work the AI does to complete your request. Four things drive it, and the more of each a request needs, the more credits it uses.
Driver | What it means |
|---|---|
Request depth | What you're asking for, from a quick answer to a detailed report or briefing. Longer, richer outputs use more credits. |
Context | How much of your workspace the AI reads to do the job, from a single task or help article to multiple projects, clients and months of activity. |
Steps and tools | How many stages the work involves, such as fetching data, running calculations, creating tasks or using connected apps. Each step builds on the one before, so multi-step jobs use more. |
AI model | How much reasoning the task needs. Simple lookups use lightweight models. Analysis and judgement may use more advanced models, which use more credits. |
Examples
Capability | Simple | Intermediate | Complex |
|---|---|---|---|
Ask AI | Ask how to do something or where to find it, answered from help documentation. ~1–10 credits | Ask AI to take an action, such as creating tasks from a list or pulling together all overdue tasks for a client. ~10–30 credits | Ask for a report that fetches data, performs calculations and produces an output, such as profitability across your top clients this quarter. ~30–80 credits |
Teammates | Scout catches you up on what has happened in a project. ~1–10 credits | Flo generates a health update for a project. ~10–50 credits | Flo prepares a briefing update across multiple clients. ~50–150 credits |
AI Workflows | A workflow uses AI to categorise or tag a new task when it is created. ~1–5 credits | A workflow reads an incoming client request, summarises it and creates the tasks needed. ~5–20 credits | A workflow takes a new project brief, builds a plan with tasks and estimates, and assigns work based on availability. ~20+ credits |
