you
will no longer be able to make
video calls using Teamwork Chat.
Within Teamwork Chat, you can manage
your device preferences for
using video calls on your browser and
operating system.
When you first launch or join a
video call, your camera and microphone
will be
disabled by default.
You will see the
corresponding icons in red at the
bottom
of
the call setup screen before you
join.
Once you have joined a call, you can
also manage the camera and microphone
via the toolbar at the bottom of the
call screen.
Clicking the microphone
or camera icon should enable the
device for the video call provided
your browser and operating
system are not blocking it.
Click the relevant
platform below to view the steps
for checking your device
settings.
Browsers
Chrome
Enabling camera and microphone
permissions
Once you click the red microphone or
camera icon, Chrome will open a pop-up
under
the URL address bar requesting
permission
to
access the device.
Click Allow to
grant access for the selected device.
This
will need to be done for each device
individually.

You can also manage access rights
for devices you have already connected
by
clicking the lock icon to the left of
the
Chrome URL address bar.
Alternatively, click the options
button (three dots) in the top right
of
the
Chrome window and
select Settings.
Under Privacy and
security, click
the Site
settings option.
While viewing the site settings, go
to
the Permissions section
and select either the Camera or Microphone option. You can then
check
whether your Teamwork site domain is
listed
under
the Allow or Block list. Clicking into the
domain
will
allow you to manage individual device
permissions for that site.
Firefox
Enabling camera and
microphone
permissions
When you click the red camera
or
microphone icon in the call
setup
screen,
Firefox will open a pop-up
under
the
address bar requesting
permission
to
access the device.
Click Allow to
grant
access for the selected
device.
This
will
need to be done for each
device
individually.
You will also have an option
to Remember this
decision which
will
save and apply the setting the
next
time
you are on a video call.

You can also manage access rights
for devices you have already
connected

clicking the lock icon to the left
of
the
Firefox URL address bar.
Alternatively, click the
options
button
in the top right of the
Firefox
window
and
select Preferences from
the
dropdown menu.
Under Privacy &
Security,
scroll to the Permissions section
and click
the Settings option
to
the right of the relevant
device.
You can then check whether your
Teamwork
site
domain is listed
as Allow or Block. Using the permission dropdown,
you
can
update your preference.
Safari
Enabling camera and
microphone
permissions
Once you click the red
microphone
or camera icon, Safari
will
open a
pop-up under the URL
address
bar
requesting permission to
access
the device.
Click Allow to
grant access for the
selected
device. This will need to
be
done
for each device
individually.
Once enabled, click the
red
camera or microphone icon
on
the
right of the Safari URL
address
bar and
select Always
Allow to save your
device
preference for future
video
calls.

You can also manage access rights
for
devices you have already connected
by
clicking Safari in
your
browser toolbar and
selecting Preferences from
the
dropdown menu.
Go to the relevant device tab and
use the permission dropdown beside
your
associated Teamwork URL to toggle
between Allow, Block, or Ask. Once you have
selected a
preference, restart Safari.
Edge
Enabling camera and
microphone
permissions
Once you click the red
microphone or camera icon, Edge
will
open
a pop-up under the URL address bar
requesting permission to access
the
device.
Click Allow to grant
access
for the selected device. This will
need to
be
done for each device
individually.

You can also manage access
rights
for
devices you have already
connected
by
clicking the lock icon to the
left
of
the Edge URL address
bar.
Alternatively, click the
options
button (three dots) in the top
right
of the Edge window and select Settings from the
dropdown
menu.
In the settings area, go to
the Site
Permissions section
and
select Camera or Microphone from
the list.
You can then check whether your
Teamwork
site
domain is listed under
the Allow or Block list. Clicking into the
domain
will
allow you to manage individual device
permissions for that site.
Operating
systems
Mac
Your Mac operating system may have
restrictions in place for certain apps
installed on your computer, preventing
them
from accessing the camera or
microphone.
To check your settings, click
the Apple logo in the top left of
your
toolbar and select System
Preferences from the
dropdown
menu.
In the System Preferences window,
select the Security &
Privacy option.
Go to the Privacy tab of the
Security & Privacy settings and
select Camera or Microphone from the list on the
left to see the apps and browsers that
can access the device.
Select the checkbox to the left of
the relevant browser to grant it
access to
the
device. If you disable access for an
app,
you
will be asked to enable it again the
next
time
that app tries to access the
device.
Windows
It is
possible that your Windows
operating system has
disallowed some apps installed
on the machine to access the
camera or
microphone.
To check your settings,
click Start and select the
settings cog before
choosing Privacy.
From the App permissions subsection,
select Camera or Microphone.
In each section you can choose
to toggle the permission to allow apps
to
access your camera or
microphone.
