The Teamwork.com Document Editor allows
you to download, open, edit and save changes
to files stored in the Files area of your
projects without having to re-upload them
manually.
Within Teamwork.com, you can enable the
Teamwork.com Document editor for your site and
allow your users to enable and use.
You can use the document editor to
edit files
that you have the appropriate application
installed on your computer to work with - for
example, Word, Excel and other Microsoft
Office files.
Enabling at site level
To allow people on your site to
use the
editor, an owner company site
administrator
will need to enable the integration in
the site settings.
Click your profile avatar in the bottom left
of your site and select Apps and
integrations from the pop-out
menu.
In the Integrations area, scroll
to the section for the Teamwork Document Editor and click the Enable button.
The
integration will be marked as enabled for your
site and you
will have an option to disable it if
required.
Enabling at user level
Once enabled at site level,
individual users
will see the Document Editor listed as an
option in their personal apps
settings.
Click your profile avatar in the bottom left
of your site and select My Apps from
the pop-out menu.
In the Apps tab, click
the Enable button beside the
Teamwork Document Editor option.
Note: If
the Document Editor is listed
under Available
Apps, it has
not yet been set up for your
site. This needs to be done by
an owner company site
administrator before you can
use the
integration.
Once enabled, you will see an Edit button next to each supported file
type in a project.
Note: The ability to
edit files on a project requires you to have
the Add Files project
permission.
Installing the Document
Editor
You will need to download the
Document Editor desktop app for either Mac OS
or Windows in order to edit files.
Once you install the
Document Editor and log in to the relevant
Teamwork.com account, you can also sync
certain projects and view their associated
files directly in the app.
Note: The document editor
requires the standard ports of 80 and 443 to
be open.
