What
Create and display chart visualizations to showcase data from your custom reports.
Why
  • Charts help people identify patterns and trends that might not be immediately apparent in a raw numerical format.
  • Visualizations help convey information more effectively and are easier for non-technical audiences to understand.
Who
  • Site admins (in the owner company) can add charts to custom reports based on available data.
  • Site admins (in external companies) and standard users with the following permissions:

Before you start

  • When creating a custom report and its associated charts, you can add individuals or teams to the report, granting them view-only access.
⚠️ The data visible in custom report charts is based on the report creator's project access and permissions; viewers will see all data the creator can access.

  4. Enter a name for your custom report chart.
  5. Select the type of chart you would like to create: bar chart or line chart (support for additional chart types is planned for a future update).
  6. The x-axis (horizontal content) of your chart corresponds to the 'type' of custom report created (project, task, or user). This cannot be changed from the chart builder. To modify it, close the chart builder and edit the underlying custom report.
  7. The options available for the Y-axis (vertical content) of the chart are based on the supported data points for your project type, as shown in the below table.

8. You can only select data with compatible formats (e.g. financial or time-based data). The first data point you select will determine the other that can be displayed on the chart. Use the checkbox at the top of the 'Available Y-axis data' panel to filter compatible formats.
9. You can add up to four Y-axis data points to a single chart.
