Best for
Tasks view is best for day-to-day
task management, reviewing assigned
work, and progressing tasks through
completion in a structured
list.

Before you
start
The Everything area shows items from all
projects you have permission to
access.
Tasks view shows active tasks in a
structured list grouped by task
list.
Your permissions determine:
- Which projects and tasks you can
view.
- Which tasks you can edit or
complete.
- Whether you
can use actions such as bulk editing,
exporting, logging time, or adding
comments.
Quick start
- Click Everything in the main
navigation and select the Tasks tab.
- Expand the task lists you want to
review.
- Use search, filters, sorting, or the task
toggle to focus on the right work.
Once the list is set up, you can review,
update, and complete tasks directly from the
view.
What you can do in
Tasks view
Tasks view allows you to manage active tasks
across multiple projects in one
place.
- Review tasks from all accessible
projects.
- Expand and collapse task lists to focus on
specific work.
- Mark tasks as complete directly from the
list.
- Search, sort, and filter tasks to narrow
your view.
- Edit task details from the list or open
the full task details panel.
- Bulk edit tasks to update multiple tasks
at the same time.
- Export tasks for
reporting or sharing outside
Teamwork.com.
You can manage tasks in this view the same
way as within a project, with access to the
same task details and actions.
Use the Tasks
view
Understand the
layout
Tasks view displays active tasks in a
structured list grouped by task list. This
layout makes it easier to review work,
understand task context, and progress tasks
across projects.
Expand
and collapse task lists
Use the expand and collapse controls beside
each task list to show or hide its
tasks.
This helps you focus on specific areas of
work and reduce visual clutter when reviewing
large sets of tasks.
Complete tasks
Mark tasks as complete directly from the
list using the checkbox beside each
task.
Completing tasks helps keep work organized
and ensures progress is reflected across your
projects.
Edit tasks
Update task details directly from the list
without opening the full task
view.
Hover over a task and click the edit icon to
open a quick edit panel where you can update
fields such as assignee, dates, priority, and
other task details.

Click a task name to open the task details
panel, where you can view and update full task
details, including logging time, adding
comments, uploading files, and managing other
task information.
Available actions depend on your
permissions.
Search tasks
Use the search field to quickly find
specific tasks in the list.
Search by task name or keywords to narrow
down results.
View your
tasks or all tasks
Use the toggle in the header to switch
between viewing your assigned tasks or all
tasks you have permission to
access.
This helps you focus on your own work or
review work across your team.

Sort tasks
Use the sort menu in the header to organize
tasks by the field most relevant to your
workflow.
You can sort tasks by options such
as:
- Start date
- Due date
- Date added
- Project
- Priority
- Company

Filter tasks
Use the Filter panel to narrow the
tasks shown in the list.
- Priority
- Custom fields
- Project
- Date created
- Assigned users or followers
- Tags
- Date
Use filters to focus on specific tasks,
such as overdue work, tasks assigned to
one person, or tasks from a particular
project.

Bulk edit tasks
Select multiple tasks to update them at the
same time.
Use the more options menu (three dots) to
access bulk
edit and apply updates across multiple
tasks.
Bulk editing is useful when you need to
quickly change fields such as assignee, dates,
or priority.

Export tasks
Export tasks from Tasks view for reporting
or sharing outside Teamwork.com.
You can export tasks to formats such as PDF,
Excel, or Google Sheets.

View task
context
Tasks view helps you understand where work
belongs without leaving the list.
- Task list
- Project
- Company context
- Task status and
related task details shown in the
list
Use Tasks view when
you want a structured, completion-focused
way to manage active work across
projects.
Limitations
- You only see tasks from projects you have
permission to access.
- Some actions may be restricted depending
on your permissions.
- Tasks view is
designed for structured list management,
not spreadsheet-style analysis.

cases

day.
- Work through assigned tasks across
projects.
- Check progress on active task lists across
teams or clients.
- Filter and sort
tasks to focus on the highest-priority
work.
Best practices for
Tasks view
- Collapse what you do not need:
Hide task lists you are not reviewing to
reduce clutter.
- Use filters first: Narrow the list
before reviewing or editing large volumes
of work.
- Sort intentionally: Use sorting to
bring the most relevant tasks to the
top.
- Complete tasks as you work: Keep
progress up to date so the list stays
accurate.
- Use bulk edit
when needed: Save time when you
need to update multiple tasks at the same
time.
