Within Teamwork.com, you can enable Markdown for
your site so that text in areas such as task
descriptions, comments, messages, and
notebooks can be formatted using Markdown
code.
Markdown is a type of code that allows
you to format text using characters
directly within the text. For example, an
asterisk either side of a word or
phrase *like this* will be interpreted in
Markdown as italic text. You can find lots
of details about Markdown syntax here.
⚠️ It is not possible to create notebooks via
Markdown using the Beta Notebooks editor (available to some Teamwork.com accounts).
Site administrators can enable or disable
Markdown for the site via the site
settings.
Click your profile avatar in the bottom
left of your site and select Settings from the pop-out
menu.

In the Settings area, go to the General subsection where you will see
an option to toggle Use Markdown on or
off.

People on your site can also choose to format
their comments and messages with Markdown
rather than the HTML editor. This option is
available in everyone's profile
preferences.
