Send emails directly from tasks using your
connected Gmail or Outlook account. Client
replies are automatically threaded back
into the task so everyone with access can
follow the conversation.
This keeps client communication alongside the
relevant work without
requiring clients to log in to
Teamwork.com.
Email conversations are visible to
everyone with access to the
task.
Enable
Comments via Email
Site admins can enable Comments via Email
from the site-level integrations area. Once enabled, users can connect their email account from My apps, under the Integrations tab.
- Click your profile icon and
select Settings.
- Switch to
the Integrations tab.
- Scroll to Comments via
Email.
- Click Enable.
Connect your email account
After Comments via Email is enabled, connect
your Gmail or Outlook account so Teamwork.com
can send and receive emails on your
behalf.
- Click your profile icon and select My
apps.
- Scroll to Comments via
Email in the Integrations tab.
- Click Connect email.
- Choose your Gmail or Outlook
account.
- Review and approve the requested
permissions.
Once connected, your email address is shown
in the Comments via Email card. You can
disconnect the account later from the same
area.
Send an email
from a task
Use the Email tab in a
task to send emails to external recipients
directly from Teamwork.com.
- Open the task.
- Scroll to the bottom of the task details
panel.
- Select the Email tab.
- Add one or more recipients in the To field.
- Add CC or BCC recipients if
needed.
- Review or update the subject line.
- Write your message using the comment
editor.
- Send the email.
Use the Email tab
for external communication. Continue
using the Comments tab for internal collaboration.
Review
email replies
When a client replies, the response is added
to the existing email thread on the task. This
keeps the conversation together instead of
creating separate comments.
- Email threads use a visual email indicator
so they’re easy to distinguish from
internal comments.
- You can review the recipients associated
with the email thread, including To, CC,
and BCC details where available.
- Continue the conversation by replying to
the email thread directly from
Teamwork.com.
Email
attachments
You can include attachments in emails where
supported. If a client sends a 20MB
attachment, it is stored in the Teamwork Files
tab under a Client Email folder.
Disconnect
your email account
Disconnect your email account if you
no longer
want to send emails from
Teamwork.com.
- Click your profile icon and select My
apps.
- Find Comments via Email.
- Select Disconnect.
- Confirm the disconnection.
If a user is removed or their OAuth
token is revoked, existing threads
become read-only.
