Within Teamwork, you can log time to specific tasks on your projects.

Logging time using timers

There are two ways to start a timer on a task.

  • Hover over a task and click the three dots to the left of the task name, then choose Start timer from the dropdown menu. Alternatively, hover over the task and press on your keyboard.

Note: Your previous selection for the Billable checkbox will be remembered the next time you log a time entry.

When logging time on a task you can also click the lock icon to keep the duration as it has been set when you change either start or end time.

If you then change either the start or end time the other will change to match the set time spent.

You can also log time or start a timer directly from the project's Time tab.

Logging time via email

  • When responding to a notification relating specifically to a task, you can send [time] as part of the reply, for example:
    • [1h]
    • [1m]
    • [1h 25m]
    • [1.5]
    • [1:30]
  • Add any text in {} for a time log description e.g: {This is the description for the timelog}. This is an optional extra.
  • If the notification email relates to a task or a comment on a task then the time is logged against that task.
  • If the notification email does not relate in any way to a task the time is logged against the project.

Time tags

You can also add tags to your time entries when logging time. Click the Tags tab in the log time modal and use the search field to find an existing tag or create a new one.
