We have recently discovered a bug in the Teamwork Chat desktop app which obviously requires fixing. Because of the way we have started the fix it means we have to cause a slight interruption to your chat app. Once we roll out an update for Teamwork Chat on Monday the 14th of September, your app will stop working. You will see the “Oops!” error screen. At this point, you’re going to need to quit your desktop app and reinstall completely. Once you do that there will be no problem.

Once uninstalled, you can reinstall Teamwork Chat from https://www.teamwork.com/chat.

This is a good time to remind you that we recently added the ability for you to use Teamwork Chat on the Web, i.e. in your Web browser. Feel free to use that while you’re re-installing your desktop app, or if you use the Web version every day anyway, you can disregard this email as it only affects those users of the desktop apps.

We place a lot of emphasis on fixing bugs and wouldn’t cause any interruption unless absolutely necessary. We will do our utmost to ensure this will never happen again. If you have any questions please reach out to our support team at chat@teamwork.com.

Please note this does not affect you if you're using the Teamwork Chat on the Web. This also does not apply if the Teamwork Chat desktop app you have was installed after Monday the 14th of September (2015). If you installed your desktop app after the 14th of September and you're seeing the "Oops!" screen, it's probably a different issue. Try completely quitting the app and opening it again.
